Pig-sticking; comprising a bamboo spear, inscribed ”Kadir Cup 1907, won by Major J. Vaughan D.S.O., 10th Hussars on his ch.aus.g. Vedette”, 96 inches (244cm) long; his pony’s hoof inkwell inscribed ”Vedette 1904-1910”; four silver-mounted boars tusk trophies modelled as menu holders, two inscribed ”Kadir Cup 1907”, 6 inches (15cm) – 7.5 inches (19cm) high; and two photographs, one showing the final heat, the other with winner on his pony, the latter 11.5 inches x 14.25 inches (28.5cm x 36cm) (8). Major General John Vaughan; a pony’s hoof inkwell with silver-plated mounts, bearing the crest of the Xth Hussars and record of Polo scurries on his mount ”Pasha” 1905-1910, and his Xth Hussars dress spurs, stamped Maxwell, Piccadilly, London; together with his Greek silver gilt and enamel medallion of the Order of St George & St Michael, dated 1915, in original Spink & Son fitted case, some damage to enamel (4).
